When I first started growing roses many years ago, Erfurt was one of the roses that I simply had to have. Though it only has semi-double flowers, the effect of the bush in bloom is one of simple elegance and unsophisticated beauty. The flowers open deep pink with a white or cream center with a large boss of stamens in the center. They are borne in clusters of 5 - 10 and give good sized orange hips.
